We focus our entire efforts on making buildings work for owners.

Highland Commissioning offers clients an independent commissioning firm who can give the exclusive attention needed to formally and holistically commission MEP building systems and digital controls. Across South Central Texas, we serve as owner advocates for existing system improvements and help owners and contractors deliver fully functional buildings on schedule, ultimately saving owners and design teams time and money.

Formed in 2020, Highland Commissioning was created with a purpose to provide a better customer experience tailored specifically to owners, contractors, and design professionals looking for a third-party resource and partner and a staff completely focused on the building commissioning process, the owner’s end-goals, and “making buildings work.”

Informed by the MEP Design Process

For 50 years, our sister company, SKYE MEP, has been designing MEP systems for clients throughout Texas. During that time, Silber was assisting its clients during the construction process to ensure that all HVAC equipment and controls were working properly before the owner assumed possession of the building. It became clear that there was a need to formalize this commissioning process separately from MEP design to serve clients better and allow design professionals and commissioning agents to grow in their specialized services. Highland maintains a close relationship with Silber and now offers a true third-party commissioning team for hire.

When we tackle a new ground-up building project, our goal is to assist the owner, contractor, and design team toward having the building delivered on time and functioning correctly.
